Lama Tenzin To Visit Little Rock

IMG_1401The Interfaith Center will host an Open House and Visit With Lama Tenzin on November 20 at 6:00 p.m. at Taj Mahal Restaurant, 1520 Market Street in Little Rock. The event is open to all, and no reservation is necessary.

Since 2001, Partnerships for Change has been sponsoring the Humanitarian Hall of Fame monk, Lama Tenzin Choegyal, and his heroic efforts to rescue children from the Dolpo region of the Himalaya Mountains. The journey involves trekking 10 hours/day for 20 – 30 days while climbing over altitudes of 18,000 feet through treacherous conditions, often encountering mercenary – like Maoists who demand payment for passage.  The brave monk and his group of children push through the insurmountable odds to the orphanage where Lama Tenzin has created a safe and loving home as well as private school education.

Society in Northern India. Partnerships For Change is also a founding partner with Lama Tenzin in creating the G.I.F.T. Project.
